New training on impact assessments provided by the Health Data Protection Officer

The Office of the Health Data Protection Officer (ODPD) of the TIC Salut Social Foundation started providing training on impact assessments in October. It is a four-session course split into two levels, basic and advanced. It is not essential to attend all the sessions to participate.

The start dates of these sessions are scheduled for 4 and 18 October, for the basic level, and 8 and 23 November, for the advanced level.

The basic module is designed for groups of no more than fifteen people and follows a methodology that is part theory and part practical to be carried out in 4 hours. The practical part involves performing a fictitious impact assessment proposed by the ODPD team.

The advanced module is designed for groups of eight people. It is a 3-hour, essentially practical session to clear up real-life issues that have arisen during impact assessments carried out by the attendees.

Both modules are for the Data Protection Coordinators of SISCAT organisations that are affiliated with the ODPD and their technical, legal and research staff involved in projects that require impact assessment. The teaching materials to be used during the course include the guide or instruction manual for using the AIPD Platform, developed by the ODPD, and an explanatory video on the importance of a data protection impact assessment and the most important aspects to take into account when carrying one out.

The training sessions planned for 2023 are already full and further sessions are planned for 2024.
