One more year, and this will be the 9th edition, the Fundació TicSalut, at the request of the Catalan Health Department, starts the Map of Tendencies 2015, which will allow us to know the level of deployment of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in the Catalan health entities (SISCAT), as well as the international tendencies in the implementation of ICTs in the health sector.

It is performed by means of an online survey and it requires the participation of all the health entities in Catalonia, which can complete it by accessing the Platform of the Map of Tendencies up to the 30th of October 2015.

Through this platform the participating entities can compare, in a confidential, personalised and interactive way, their own situation with the SISCAT average and other similar institutions (per number of beds, per expenditure and/or level of assistance).

This year’s edition incorporates new functionalities that the entities will find in the platform. For example:

  • New filter to compare the situation of each entity per Health Region.
  • Visualisation and downloading of the survey completed last year and the new survey 2015.
  • Response loading of last year’s edition (2014) regarding certain questions, so the entities will simply have to check whether in a certain section the answer is still the same or it needs to be updated.
  • Automated notice for incoherent or wrong answers.
  • A FAQs section about the platform and the survey.

The results will be presented in the Meeting of the Map of Tendencies that will be held by the end of December 2015, with the presence of, among others, managers of Hospitals and Primary Health Care Centres and Social-Sanitary Centres, Technicians, Experts, Managing Directors of Technological Companies, IT Experts, Nurses…

It is important to remind that in last year’s survey 121 SISCAT entities participated (with a 96% response) and it focused on mobility.
