The publication "Strategic Plan 2013-2017 and Report 2012" of the Fundació TicSalut now available

The Strategic Plan must enable TicSalut to become an agent facilitating the transformation of the health and social assistance model by means of ICT in Catalonia.

“The Government of Catalonia made a vote in favour of ICTs in 2006 with the creation of the Fundació TicSalut, which has now gained new strength with this Strategic Plan. Thanks to the fact that its governance covers the health and social sectors, it is able to work more actively as a catalyst of the needs and requirements of these sectors and also of technology”, writes Dr. Francesc Garcia Cuyàs, the Health Department’s General Coordinator of ICTs and Director of the Fundació TicSalut, in the document the foundation has just published.

Although the Strategic Plan 2013-2017 and Report 2012 has only been available in Catalan up to now, it will soon be available in Spanish and English; it presents the Fundació TicSalut as an organisation in search of change. The publication presents the purpose, the vision and the values of this body, as well as its organisation and the work tools that TicSalut deployed up to last year in achieving the following eight strategic lines:

• To be a benchmark in managing social and health demand.
• To be a benchmark in standardisation and interoperability.
• To be a benchmark as an observatory of innovation applied to ICTs.
• To involve, participate and inform the sector and companies by means of communication.
• To drive the external projection of ICTs in the health and social areas.
• To enhance the management and transfer of knowledge. Training.
• To promote, facilitate and encourage innovation projects.
• To guarantee sustainability.

Furthermore, the document also gives visibility to the priorities of the Fundació TicSalut for 2013 in line with the strategy of the Catalonia Health Plan 2011-2015:

• To gather the demands and improvements of the sector proposed to the members of the iSalut.cat network.
• To build the new common messaging model for the iSalut.cat.
• To guide the sector in ICT trends and to work with CatSalut to promote the spreading of the tendencies of the sector.
• To drive the integration of information systems in the area of the Department of Well-being and Family in the iSalut.cat.
• To reformulate the web space of the Foundation and to incorporate the new portfolio of services and the collaboration model.
• To reach new framework collaboration agreements with the universities in order to enhance health ICT training.
• To enhance the relationship with the business area by launching the new model of collaboration with the Foundation.
• To reorganise the Foundation internally.
• To guarantee the economic and financial balance by developing the program contract with the Agency of Health Quality and Evaluation of Catalonia (Agència de Qualitat i Avaluació Sanitàries de Catalunya).
