The TIC Salut Social Foundation supports the Catalan Healthcare System and Social Services to promote the use of international reference standards, such as HL7 FHIR, SNOMED CT, LOINC, IHE, DICOM, and OpenEHR amongst others.

SNOMED CT National Reference Center
SNOMED CT is a standard specifically designed for the exchange of electronic health information and for recording and sharing clinical data.
The Catalan extension allows the translation of SNOMED CT concepts into Catalan, offers a fast way to obtain new concepts, and makes it possible to create others that only make sense within the scope of the territory. It also contains almost sixty subsets used in a wide range of areas of the Catalan Health System. This regional version is aligned with the extension of the Ministry of Health for the SNS (National Health System), as well as with international ones.

Unique Object Identifiers [OIDs] National Reference Center
A unique object identifier (OID) is a globally unique value that uniquely identifies an object, without ambiguity. An OID is represented by a character string consisting of numbers and dots.
There is a large and standardized set of international and national OIDs. For semantic interoperability between different information systems, each healthcare organization must have a standardized OID root.

The Catalogs and Terminologies Area of CatSalut’s data axis, as the National Reference Center for OIDs for the Health Department of Catalonia, is the body responsible for maintaining, managing, and publishing the OIDs of the Department of Health.
