01. 5G technology
Today’s health services are provided increasingly using new non-face-to-face care tools.This new paradigm complements traditional care with new scenarios that go beyond the physical boundaries of hospitals and health centres. 5G offers a new series of mobile services, thus generating a new paradigm, based on the emergence of disruptive technologies.
02. Suitability analysis
The TIC Salut i Social Foundation is planning a study on the suitability of 5G technology in Terres de l’Ebre for the implementation of health services in the home.
Home hospitalization and monitoring of chronically ill people are possible scenarios for use, to guarantee healthcare in the home environment, monitor vital signs remotely, facilitate communication between the professional and the patient, and provide remote support between hospitals and homes. This pilot test assesses the various parameters related to the implementation of 5G services to ensure accessibility and quality of services at home.
The execution of the pilot test will count on the participation within the health field of the Baix Ebre County Council, the Directorate of Information Systems of the Catalan Health Institute in Terres de l’Ebre and the County Hospital of Móra d’Ebre, and the technological support of the i2Cat Foundation.
