This year, the Youth Research Awards (PRJ) include the TIC Salut Social Award for the second time, awarded to the best project in this field. The PRJ awards are aimed at students between 14 and 23 years of age who have completed the 3rd and 4th year of Compulsory Secondary education, baccalaureate or intermediate or higher vocational training cycles during the 2019-2020 academic year and who have carried out research work during that year.

This initiative has been launched in conjunction with the TIC Salut Social Foundation and aims to recognize the best research project that addresses issues related to the field of information and communication technologies (ICT) or new technologies in the health or social sector.

The TIC Salut Social Award specifically is recognition of research based on an innovative idea or project in the field of ICT and which provides a solution to a real need identified in the health or social sector.

This award will assess the approach and value of the proposal for the social and health care community and seeks to give visibility to the applications of new technologies in

these areas of knowledge, given the importance and rapid evolution of digital transformation in our society.

The ICT category includes studies on the development and use of telemedicine and medical telecare, virtual reality (VR), Internet of Things (or IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), big data, robotics, 3D printing or additive manufacturing, virtual patient communities, new digital skills for the professional field, health and social care integration, and mobility (portable or wearable applications and devices).

“In short, any issue related to digital health or mobile health (e-health or m-health) in the health or social field that places patients or citizens at the centre of the system as agents of digital transformation”.

In particular, the award is looking for projects that are integrating, with either a Catalan or international scope.

The TIC Salut Social Foundation participates in the call for submissions by offering a financial endowment of eight hundred and fifty euros.

Period for submitting applications: from 15 October 2020 until 14:00 (local time Barcelona) on 10 November 2020
