Las week, the TIC Salut Social Foundation hosted a Swedish delegation to share knowledge and best practices related to the digital health asset certification service. The visit took place within the framework of the European collaboration derived from the Label2Enable project, in which the Foundation has played an active role in the creation and implementation of the common international standard CEN ISO/TS 82304-2, dedicated to assessing the quality and reliability of digital health applications and assets.
This standard, now fully integrated into the Foundation’s digital health certification service, has attracted significant interest across Europe, as Catalonia is one of the first regions to implement it effectively. In this context, Sweden expressed a strong interest in understanding how to replicate the working methodology, governance model, and collaboration between industry, public administration, and service providers promoted by the TIC Salut Social Foundation.
The two-day visit brought together twelve professionals and representatives from Sweden’s digital health innovation ecosystem, including the Compare Foundation – DigitalWell Arena, a counterpart to the TIC Salut Social Foundation; professors from KTH Technical University; healthcare planning officials from the Värmland region; experts from the Swedish Medical Authority; representatives from the municipalities of Karlstad and Arvika; and members of DigitalWell Ventures, an incubator specialized in digital health startups.
On the first day, the delegation participated in theoretical and practical sessions held at the Foundation’s headquarters, led by Carme Pratdepàdua, Head of Digital Assets for Citizens, along with team members Mario Navarro and Pau Gallinat. Representatives from the Information Systems and Citizenship, Innovation and User departments of the Catalan Health Service also took part, sharing projects such as La Meva Salut and MAPES.
In addition, AQuAS and companies with certified digital health assets, such as Doctomatic, LactApp Medical, and eSalut, contributed by sharing their experience in validation and implementation processes.
On the second day, the group visited Hospital de Sant Pau to learn about its digital health strategy, the Digital Health Validation Center, and the Barcelona Health Hub.
According to Marie Granander, Project Manager at DigitalWell Arena, “the pioneering role of the TIC Salut Social Foundation in the evaluation and validation of digital health assets is a benchmark for many European regions and countries that have yet to start along this much-needed path.”
With this visit, the TIC Salut Social Foundation strengthens the Catalan Government’s position as a European reference in the planning and implementation of technology-driven health policies, in alignment with international innovation and interoperability standards.
