The digital lifestyle self assessment tools PEACHD SumaSalut and PreveCan, which provide personalised feedback and recommendations, have successfully completed the Digital Health Asset Certification process of the TIC Salut i Social Foundation. Through a series of online questions, both applications enable users to assess their lifestyle habits and receive personalised recommendations aimed at promoting health and preventing disease.
PreveCan was the first of the two solutions to be developed. It was promoted by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III, the Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red de Epidemiología y Salud Pública (CIBERESP) and the Universidad de Alcalá (UA). The tool assesses lifestyle habits by taking into account factors such as diet, physical activity, alcohol and tobacco consumption, and sun exposure. Based on the answers provided, it offers personalised recommendations aimed at reducing cancer risk, in line with international prevention recommendations from the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) and the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR).
PEACHD SumaSalut was developed by the Public Health Agency of Catalonia and Hospital Clínic de Barcelona as part of the European Piloting European Action on Cancer Health Determinants (PEACHD) project*, cofunded by the European Union. The digital tool builds on PreveCan and retains its methodological foundations, while incorporating the adaptations needed for the Catalan context to enhance its relevance, accessibility and practical application.
It is important to note that neither tool provides clinical diagnoses nor calculates an individual’s health risk.
The TIC Salut i Social Foundation provides a service for assessing the quality of digital assets in the health and wellbeing sector. The assessment is based on the European technical specification CEN ISO/TS 82304-2, as well as requirements established by the Catalan Ministry of Health and other European directives.
The assessment covers four key areas: whether the content is reliable, the design is accessible, the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation are met, and the technology used is robust. Digital assets that meet the minimum requirements receive a certification seal and a label indicating the level of quality achieved in each area.
