The TIC Salut Social Foundation calls for the second consecutive year the health and social innovation ecosystem of Catalonia to the 4YFN

  • For the second consecutive year, the main players in the health innovation ecosystem of Catalonia are participating together with a pavilion to boost the international projection of the sector.

Barcelona, March 3 and 4, 2025 – The Minister of Health of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Olga Pané, visits the Catalonia Health Innovation Ecosystem stand at the MWC (Mobile World Congress) in Barcelona, with the aim of getting a firsthand look at the technological innovations that are transforming the healthcare sector. During the visit, Pané witnessed the presentation of the CAIROS project, led by Tino Martí, one of the initiators of the project. This initiative, which is part of the innovative health ecosystem of Catalonia, is based on the use of artificial intelligence to improve healthcare services’ attention and efficiency.

The CAIROS project stands out for its potential to transform diagnostic and treatment processes, as well as for improving the patient experience through advanced digital solutions. In this regard, Olga Pané emphasized the importance of collaboration between the various stakeholders in the healthcare sector, such as the TIC Salut Social Foundation, the Department of Health, and entities like Biocat, to ensure the growth of a technological ecosystem that tackles the challenges of future healthcare.

The Catalonia Health Innovation Ecosystem Pavilion, located next to the Mobile World Congress 2025 at Fira Barcelona Gran Via, is one of the most prominent spaces at the eleventh edition of the 4YFN. In this setting, the health and social services innovation ecosystem of Catalonia once again has a dedicated reference space for the second consecutive year. The pavilion, led by the TIC Salut Social Foundation and Biocat, has the active participation of the organizations and entities that are part of the Health System and the Social Services System of Catalonia, as well as the City of Barcelona, ACCIÓ, the Agency for Health Quality and Evaluation of Catalonia (AQuAS), the Catalan Health Service (CatSalut), the Catalan Institute of Health (ICS), La Unió – Association of Health and Social Entities (UCH), the Consortium of Health and Social Services of Catalonia (CSC), the Catalan Association of Health Entities (ACES), the Catalan Association of Care Resources (ACRA), and the Third Sector Social Entities Table of Catalonia (m4Social).

Joan Guanyabens, director of the TIC Salut Social Foundation, and Robert Fabregat, director of Biocat, held a press conference to explain the advances and opportunities presented by the CAIROS project, as well as the strategic objectives of the digital health ecosystem in Catalonia. According to Guanyabens, “Our commitment is to continue driving the digital transformation of health, with initiatives that improve access and the quality of healthcare, as well as the efficiency of the system.” For his part, Fabregat highlighted the role of Biocat in coordinating and promoting innovative projects within the health sector.

The CAIROS project is presented as a unique opportunity to integrate artificial intelligence and big data solutions into clinical practice, contributing to the improvement of health outcomes and the optimization of healthcare resources.

Catalonia’s presence at the MWC and 4YFN (4 Years From Now), the event dedicated to entrepreneurship and innovation, continues to establish itself as a meeting point for the promotion of technological projects that improve people’s health through technology. During the press conference held this morning, Biocat and the TIC Salut Social Foundation emphasized the importance of this event as a platform to showcase innovations that are transforming the healthcare sector in Catalonia and worldwide.
