Artificial Intelligence to improve the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of cancer

The TIC Salut Social Foundation is one of the partners of the European project INCISIVE, which recently released the first prototype of its federated interoperable repository containing thousands of clinical images of breast, lung, prostate and colorectal cancer. The aim of the project is to improve the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of cancer using Artificial Intelligence techniques. In the following video, the head of the Artificial Intelligence Department of the TIC Salut Social Foundation, Susanna Aussó, sets out the project’s general objectives and the foundation’s role in matters such as the explainability of Artificial Intelligence and interoperability.

As Aussó points out, through the INCISIVE project and similar projects on Artificial Intelligence and medical imaging, the TIC Salut Social Foundation is participating in working groups with the European Commission related to this field.

INCISIVE has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement no. 952179.
