The Sociedad Españoola de Reumatología (SER) and the Sociedad Española de Medicina de Familia y Comunitaria (SEMFYC) have jointly developed a guide on systemic autoimmune diseases to facilitate referral to a rheumatologist by primary care physicians, with the aim of to detect and refer possible suspicions of this type of condition.
The main objective of the project is to develop a referral guide that will help the primary care physician in making decisions when faced with the clinical suspicion of a systemic autoimmune disease, facilitating its recognition and referral to the rheumatologist if necessary.
The secondary objective is to make family doctors aware of the existence of these less frequent pathologies, improve the quality of referrals, reduce waiting times and coordinate the two levels of care in relation to these pathologies.
