Nora is a research project using an application (App) for mobile devices that aims to educate study subjects who have suffered from vascular disease about the importance of following a healthy lifestyle. The App allows direct and continuous contact between the study subject and the medical team, the periodic sending of personalized teaching material about the disease and remote control of adherence and compliance with pharmacological treatment. In this way, blood pressure control, glucose level, physical exercise and other vascular risk factors are optimized.
Recent studies show poor control of risk factors in secondary prevention in patients who have suffered from a vascular disease, such as stroke or myocardial infarction. It is known that a second event, in most cases, will be more serious than the first, increasing the probability of death or disability. The use of mobile applications can have a positive impact on the control of vascular risk factors. The Nora research project aims to demonstrate an increase in therapeutic adherence and healthy lifestyle modification in study subjects with vascular disease.
Nora is aimed at any study subject who wants to reduce the risk of suffering a vascular disease, increase their knowledge and have continuous supervision in relation to compliance with medication and control of vascular risk factors. It is a personalized service that requires the exchange of information between the study subject and the medical team. To participate in the program, in addition to downloading the application, it is necessary to contact the Nora team of the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Research (https://www.vallhebron.com/farmalarm/). After an initial personalized evaluation, you will receive the keys to activate the App.
