The participation of the Fundació TicSalut in the CC-BCN for the WHO Family of International Classifications is confirmed

Fundació TicSalut has taken part in the group of experts that makes up the staff of the Centre and in the IT and Terminology Committee, placing an emphasis on the harmonization between CIM-11 and SNOMED CT. It has also participated in different editions of the WHO-FIC Network Annual Meeting, such as the one held in Barcelona last year. The Fundació TicSalut Office of Standards and Interoperability presented the Clinical Dictionary for iHealth project, which is aimed at standardising the vocabulary used at SISCAT by implementing semantical standards like CIM-9-MC, CIM-10, LOINC or SNOMED CT. The Fundació TicSalut participation in the CC-BCN is confirmed and will thus continue to take part in the different groups and work committees.

Ariadna Rius, from the Fundació TicSalut Office of Standards and Interoperability, closely involved in the project, says about this collaboration: “I think that having a collaborating centre in the region will help our centres and organisations in the challenge to implement new versions of the International Classification of Diseases and to manage their coexistence with other controlled vocabularies like SNOMED CT”.
