The start of May has become key for the dissemination of new projects linked to digital health and a great opportunity to share the latest innovations.

Interest in health innovation in Catalonia and abroad

The first example comes in the HEALTHIO event, one of the main characters of this edition of Flash TicSalut with the interview with its scientific director, Jordi Serrano. During three days, more than 3,000 visitors approached the almost one hundred exhibitors, were able to witness more than 300 talks (the arenas) and participate in one of the more than 25 itineraries or guided tours created to show all the details of the companies and institutions present at Healthio. The Fundació TicSalut participated in three talks, and Carmen Pratdepàdua presented the AppSalut Portal, Ariadna Ríos, the mHealth office, the Inter-social project, the office of standards and interoperability, and Elisabeth Gordillo of the project office presented the DPaX, the project on the creation of an ecosystem of digital services focused on improving the patient’s experience, their environment and the professionals throughout the care process.

What’s more, taking advantage of the holding of this event in Barcelona, a delegation from different countries, Russia, Holland, Slovenia and Belgium, wanted to see how the Catalan Health ecosystem works first hand. Delegation coordinator Tina V. Vavpotic from Marand (Slovenia) was very pleased after the "very informative" visit and opened the doors to "exploring new ways of collaboration with Slovenia".

eHealth Week, in Malta

On the other hand, a new edition of eHealth Week, organised by HIMSS, the European Commission and the Government of Malta in the city of Malta, taking over from Amsterdam, started just 6 days later. The Fundació TicSalut, invited by ECHAlliance, took part in the session entitled "Market Access across Europe with the Global Connector". The European Connected Health Alliance devoted part of the session to showing the functioning, the model and success stories of two ecosystems of the alliance: Ireland and Catalonia. On behalf of TicSalut, the Head of Communication, Adrià Garcia, presented the "Catalan mHealth Hub: Accreditation model for health apps", focusing on the accreditation model of health and social applications currently coordinated by the Foundation, highlighting something new in that the beginning of the pilot trial, which will last three months, will be developed in four primary care centres and will have more than 25 professionals involved.
