Launch of the project on Digital skills for health professionals (COMPDIG-Salut)

The Ministry of Health, through the Directorate-General of Health Professionals, and the Ministry of Digital Policies and Public Administration, through the Secretariat of Digital Policies, have launched, in coordination with the TIC Salut Social Foundation, the COMPDIG-Salut project, which aims to endow health professionals in Catalonia with specific digital skills. The initial actions are aimed at operationalizing the conclusions of the analysis performed by the group for challenge 4 of the Professional Dialogue Forum*.

The COMPDIG-Salut project aims to endow health professionals in Catalonia with specific digital skills

The main objective of the project is to define the specific digital skills of the health professionals in Catalonia and create an assessment and accreditation model in this regard, ACTIC 3-Salut, making use of the knowledge, the resources and infrastructures available on the ACTIC platform.

In today’s scenario characterized by digital transformation, especially in the field of health, professionals in this sector play a key role in the deployment of new models of care based on technology. Actions are needed in this regard, to endow health professionals with the digital skills necessary so they can adapt and improve their professional development in the current digital context.

The project is promoted by the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Digital Policies and Public Administration, and managed by the TIC Salut Social Foundation

ACTIC 3-Salut

This project is part of the new ACTIC model, which was approved on March 2 by the Catalan Government through a new decree regulating this accreditation in digital skills, and which provides for the possibility of defining a series of digital skills related to sectorial areas and the possibility of establishing forms of certification for these sectorial digital skills which set out the sectorial skills, content and evaluation indicators which complement the ACTIC.

Therefore, during 2021, the necessary digital skills for health professionals will be established, as will the corresponding indicators. With the framework defined, different actors will then be able to prepare the content and/or develop training itineraries. The model and metrics for this sectorial accreditation will also be defined.

Meanwhile, during the first half of 2021, a study to determine the current digital skills of health professionals will be carried out, which will provide a rough understanding of training needs in this area.
