Virtual Nurse has launched its application for mobile devices. This is a key step in its consolidation as a habitual platform used by health professionals. The App, which is free and available for iOS and Android, is intended to provide nurses and other health professionals with advice and information for the people they attend.  Thanks to the hundreds of informative resources drawn up from nursing knowledge, the application allows the user to be given steps, advice and general information on different daily situations and health problems to help them take informed decisions on their own state of health.

“The application is a natural step for the project”, Marc Fortes, the coordinator of Virtual Nurses, explains. “Having these contents, advice and resources on the mobile is a change in the way that nurses can relate to the people we take care of”, adds Fortes. “Now is the time to go beyond verbal prescription; we have the chance to provide proven and directed information so that people can participate in the decisions on their health via the new technologies”.

The application allows access to the contents of the Virtual Nurse on its different supports, such as advice, infographies and videos, amongst other things.  These materials allow nursing knowledge on each of the health situations to be shared rapidly in a way that is easy to receive.  All of these contents become health links that allow health professionals to prescribe this information directly to the people they attend via e-mail, or to share it over the social networks.

On the menu of the application, the access through 'Look after your health' particular stands out in the more than 110 tutorials intended to resolve doubts and to give more information on health problems, healthy lifestyles, life situations and aspects related to the different stages of people’s life cycles, whereas by entering 'Files' the nurses can access the complete files made by expert nurses in different health situations. Professionals are also provided with a direct access to consult the structure and function of the human body.
