Health 2.0 Europe, European digital health meeting in Barcelona

Health 2.0 Europe since 2010 has been the platform for developing and presenting new technological solutions in the area of digital health. From all around the world, innovative ideas will be revealed that have been turned into tools to help medical professionals and patients in their daily activity in the hospital or from a distance. The organisation once more chose Barcelona as the capital of innovation with a great concentration of start-ups and for its close collaboration with the Mobile World Capital.

To ensure that each player of the technological ecosystem might be represented, the program of this year’s Health 2.0 Europe is structured on the increased adoption of innovative solutions by patients and health professionals, the increased investment in start-ups, and the integration of this new technology in healthcare reimbursement systems. 

Health 2.0 Europe 2016 gathers pioneers of health 2.0

Among the speakers at the Congress we find names of the like of: Dr. Rafael Grossmann, surgeon and traumatologist and a pioneer in digital health (he performed the first surgery documented with Google Glass); Esther Dyson, one of the most influential investors in digital health in the world, whose most recent investments have included PatientsLikeMe, 23andMe, Health Tap and Omada Health; and Dr. Julio Mayol, director of the Innovation Unit of the San Carlos Institute of Healthcare Research (IdSSC) and adviser of start-ups engaged in biomedical technology and digital health.

More than 120 speakers, 30 investors and 50 live demos of new digital solutions

In the 2015 edition of Health 2.0 Europe, "technological and Digital solutions were presented that were already in a state of more advanced maturity than in previous years and ready to be implemented. The general opinion was very positive and we received 500 attendees, a figure we hope to improve on this year", reports Pascal Lardier, International Director of Health 2.0 Europe.

Repeating the good reception of last year’s edition, 50 live demonstrations will be given of digital solutions, always from the point of view of the user. Innovative solutions to help all of the agents involved in managing health (patients, doctors, pharmaceutical laboratories, insurance companies, etc.). In this sense, a session presented by Dr. Rafael Grossmann stands out with the title of "Solutions for Hospitals and Health Professionals", in which five of the leading apps in this area will be presented that help to increase the quality of patient care and reduce healthcare costs

Business opportunities and new solutions for doctors and patients

Health start-ups can find visibility and financing at Health 2.0 Europe. The 5th edition of EC2VC-Investors' Forum and Pitch Competition, will focus specifically on accelerating the flow of operations in Europe. "At Health 2.0 Europe we gather the International investors that are most active in digital health to enable them to contact the most promising health start-ups. EC2VC is therefore the opportunity to bring investors and start-ups into contact with projects both in the first and second round of financing ", stresses Pascal Lardier.
