Autor: Adrià G.Font   /  7 de gener de 2016

During the meeting on the past 24 November, the presented funding opportunities focused principally on the Horizon 2020 program’s call to Health and well-being (Social Challenge 1). In the 2016 call, there is a budget available for health projects of €323.5 million and €19.5 million for coordination actions. Of all of the subjects available in the area of Health and well-being, there are four directly related to the use of ICT and which have a budget of €43.5 million. Opportunities were also presented in the area of the Internet of Things and of the call for safety in which challenges were considering the environment of Health, where these have a budget of €21 million.

The funding opportunities were also presented which the CDTI provides for innovative companies. The Neotec, Innvierte, Eureka and Eurostars programs were revealed, all of which have a strong presence in funded ICT and Health projects, and the presentation of new proposals in the forthcoming meetings was therefore also encouraged.

Finally, Mind the Byte and Starlab took over in the presentation of experiences by companies that have received funding through the Horizon 2020’s SME instrument. This is an instrument that allows a company to be individually financed in the first phase with €50,000 in order to define its business case, and then to present an application for funding of up to €2.5 million to develop this business idea. In 2016 there will be several cut-off dates and an available budget of €53 million. “The companies of the ICT and health sector have to be aware that there is a budget of €18 million for developing new specific solutions in this field", Garcia-Milà stressed.

The audience comprised mainly companies, supplier centres, research centres and other representatives, and all enjoyed the networking performed during the meeting.
